FOREWORD

Welcome to fall and our new issue. Bloodroot Poetry Journal has grown. This fall edition includes much more poetry and professional photography than our inaugural issue. Showcasing exemplary poetry is our foremost goal. Additionally, we continue with our mission to publish such poetry by an international group of writers. In this issue, we feature a Syrian poet based in France, a poet from Kerala, India, two Canadians, a Malaysian-Persian American, a queer Russian writer, a poet from Hyderabad, Telangana, a poet with a doctorate from the University of Bath, United Kingdom and another from Cambridge, United Kingdom. The issue also continues with our mission to celebrate poems written in response to. The fall issue includes poems written in response to museum exhibits, a conservator’s painting restoration, war in Syria, images on a canyon wall, Van Gogh’s life and painting, the Pacific and the Flower Moons, a beloved country, art museums, the statue of Atlas in Naples, an empty greenhouse, Tennyson’s “The Lady of Shalott,” Monet paintings, summer beaches, and bees and water lilies. We hope you enjoy this autumn abundance of writing and photography, and we thank both our highly talented contributors and all who submitted.
